Cornerstone of school laid in Mazar-e Sharif

Cornerstone for new structure of Mir Ghulam Mohammad Rabi high school costing 12 million AFN in Kart-e Nawshad of Mazar-e Sharif city was laid this morning. 

Mohammad Hamayon Nabizada, Deputy and Acting Director of Education Department in Balkh province told the media that the new structure was a 2-storey building consisting of 10 classrooms and 4 administrative rooms which would be built within 3 months. 

Mr. Nabizada added that the cost of the new structure will be paid by the World Bank and it will be implemented by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing. 

He also says that with completion of the new structure, 3 thousand students will benefit from better studying conditions. 

According to the Acting Director of Education in Balkh, 300 schools in this province don’t have standard structures and around 300 other schools don’t have covering walls, toilets and green grounds. 

This is while according to officials in Balkh Education Department, in the ongoing year, 14 school buildings have been handed over to use and 25 others have been fully rebuilt.
