Disabled in Balkh demand ceasefire

A number of disabled people, particularly blind people, in Mazar-e Sharif city, launching a Quran recitation ceremony for souls of martyrs of Afghanistan, called on involving sides of conflict to stop war and announce ceasefire, so that people could pass Eid with joy together in a peaceful atmosphere.

Abdul Rahim Safa, Responsible for Afghanistan Association of the Blind states that many youths have lost their body parts as a consequence of conflicts, and continuation of war causes more disability.

He asks conflicting parties to abstain from war to stop disability.

Based on officials of the country’s association of the blind, there are 12 thousand people with disability including 585 blind people in Balkh province, and 70% of them have become disabled due to ongoing battles in the country.
