Mohammad Salim Ranjbar, Head of Agriculture Department in Sar-e Pul told Bayan-e Shamal that the projects included small dams and reservoir for agriculture water in the center of the province which will be built through “Watershed” program for more than $ 2 million within three years.
According to him, in addition to irrigating more than 30 hectares of agricultural land, these projects will avoid destruction of educational institutions, residential places and public establishments in the flooding season.
Mr. Ranjbar also added that with consultation of development councils, the projects have been considered for regions where water gets wasted when water levels rise.
Save the Children has been implementing projects in education and children fostering sections in Sar-e Pul province for more than one and half decades, but this is the first time it stepped in the agriculture section.
